Join us for a fun, community-focused co-ed volleyball league at the Newark YMCA! This league is recreational and self-called, welcoming all experience levels—from brand-new players to seasoned athletes who just want consistent games, good energy, and a great Sunday night routine.

Every team plays two matches per night, giving you plenty of court time and chances to build chemistry throughout the season.

🟨 Co-Ed Format

• 6 players on the court
• 2 women minimum on the court at all times
  (If you cannot meet this rule, you may still play the match for fun, but the win and points will be forfeited.)

Free agents are welcome — we’ll build balanced teams. Groups can sign up together too!

📜 Rules & Expectations

Self-Officiated Games

This league is completely self-called. We rely on integrity, communication, and good vibes.
Call your own faults honestly, respect your opponents, and replay any point if teams can’t agree.

General Gameplay Rules

• Setting Rule: We honor the updated doubles setting rule; no carries.
• Back Row Rule: Back-row players must stay behind the attack line when hitting or blocking.
• If a violation occurs, the ball goes to the opposing team.

Subs

Subs are allowed throughout the season. Just communicate with your captain and the opposing team to keep play smooth.

Match Format

• Best of 3 sets: 21, 21, 15 (or as time permits)
• Hard stop at 9 PM

This is a recreational league built around fun, connection, and community.
Respect your teammates. Respect your opponents. Bring great energy.
We want every Sunday night to feel like the best part of your week.
